The breath that enters the man is divine breath — ruach, the same word for Spirit, wind, breath. Human life is not self-generated. It is sustained by an intimacy with the Creator that precedes every other fact about us. Thread 6 begins here: the in-him union is not a new-covenant invention. It is the original condition of human existence.
