I will take my stand at my watchpost and look out to see what he will say to me. Habakkuk does not leave — he waits. The posture of staying in conversation with a God whose actions seem incomprehensible is what Jesus will model in Gethsemane.

Give me the honesty to examine my own response. Is there any place where I am choosing the lesser thing?
